3rd ANNUAL GLOBAL CROSSROADS
7pm – concert at Murphy

Since 2014, Historic New Harmony and Under the Beams have collaborated to produce the *Global Crossroads Culture & Music Festival*. The concept behind the collaboration is to expand on Under the Beams’ successful series and world music elements by presenting a musical act from a chosen ethnic or geographic area as a centerpiece to building new partnerships within our Southern Indiana region. The band selected for this year’s Festival is Funkadesi, a multicultural group that incorporates Bollywood, Bhangra, Reggae, Funk, and Afro-Caribbean music and dance. In addition to their music, the group offers several types of workshops and educational programs, which we will utilize by providing events at the University of Southern Indiana and at a number of local K-12 schools in Posey and Vanderburgh counties. The goal of the festival is to provide a platform that brings a new style of music to the area, and to partner with local community organizations, businesses, and non-profits to provide an international festival that highlights the arts, history, food and culture of the year’s chosen regions and beyond.
